Do you want to display your eCommerce products online using 3D and Augmented Reality? Maybe you're not sure where to start or whether you can handle it. 3D and AR are amazing tools to create a more engaging eCommerce experience and drive sales, and the best part is - setting it up is very simple and you can most definitely handle it. You’ll publish your first product in mere minutes!
In short, it's an easy 4 step process:
Acquire 3D models,
Upload them onto the Sayduck Platform,
set up the 3D viewer, and
publish them on your eCommerce website. And voilá! All done.

Your journey in the Sayduck Platform begins with a 3D model. To start, you'll need 3D models of your products for the 3D Viewer which, thankfully, are easy to come by.
There are various ways to get 3D models these days - external 3D modelers, 3D scanning, etc. We also provide 3D modeling services for clients and are glad to help you with them.
To create a high-quality 3D model, you'll only need enough photos of your product from various angles, product dimensions, and a 3D modeler to create the 3D model for you. Many eCommerce businesses nowadays already have 3D models of their products.
As for file types, The Sayduck Platform supports most 3D file formats, but the recommended file format is .obj. Other great choices are glTF and GLB. These formats will make creating a product as easy as drag & drop.
Once you have the 3D models of your eCommerce product, you can start setting up the Platform. The Platform is full of advice for every step, complemented by videos, a helpdesk and a chat, which connects you directly to our team.
Upload 3D models
First, you upload a 3D model onto the Platform. Then, depending on the file type, you upload, drag and drop your materials to the different surfaces on the model. The product itself is ready!

After creating your first product, consider these features:
Variants - Add colors, sizes and other features to create additional versions of your product that your customers can try out.
Annotation - Capture your customer's attention by highlighting certain parts of your product. Highlight customizable parts or otherwise interesting parts of the product

Embed to the website - Copy and paste
And finally, it’s time to add the 3D Viewer to your website. To do so - simply copy the embed code from the Platform, paste it on your website, and you’re ready to engage more eCommerce customers. You can embed the Sayduck viewer to any eCommerce platform, such as Shopify, Wix, and others.
The Augmented Reality feature, called WebAR, is the part that brings the products to life. The beauty of it is, that it works directly from the browser and does not require the visitor to use an app. For your customer to start using it, the 3D Viewer creates a QR code they can scan to see the item in augmented reality with the camera on their phone.

With the 3D Configurator, the customer can view your products from all different angles, twist and turn them as well as customize them. From here, your shopper can view the product with AR in their natural environment using the camera on their phone. This allows them to get a realistic feeling of how the item fits, and what it looks like with other items in the room.
The platform also gives you data of its usage, which you can use to analyze your business. You can see which products were viewed in 3D and which in AR.
